Laboratory: how do we want to cooperate (in the future)?
We invite you to participate in the program Laboratory: how do we want to cooperate (in the future)? taking place during the 24th Children’s Art. Biennale “Future” from May 29 to June 4, 2023 in Poznan.
Laboratory: how do we want to cooperate (in the future)? is a Polish-German program of experience exchange in the field of art for young audiences. The Laboratory was created in cooperation between the Children’s Art Centre in Poznań and Kinder- und Jugendtheaterzentrum in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland. The program accompanies the 24th Children’s Art Biennale and consists of two components:
- a working group led by Arthur Romanowski, aimed at people up to the age of 35 who live in Poland, practice theater and are interested in talking about art for young audiences,
- a two-day workshop and discussion program with expert speakers from Germany and Poland, to be held on May 30-31, 2023; topics to be covered include communication, awareness, working models in the creative process.
Curators of the Lab: Iwona Nowacka, Nikola Schellmann (KJTZ)
Iwona Nowacka – translator, curator of theatrical and literary projects. She studied Germanic philology and literary studies at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan and Universita degli Studi in Macerata (Italy). She translates theatrical texts by authors such as Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Juli Zeh, Gesine Danckwart, Sibylle Berg, Falk Richter, Bonn Park, Katja Brunner, among others. Together with Janek Turkowski, she forms the duo Turkowski & Nowacka, realizing performances in the genre of video storytelling.
Nikola Schellman (she/her) – graduated with a master’s degree in theater studies and a postgraduate program in curating performing arts. She was a researcher at the Institute for Film, Theater and Empirical Cultural Studies at Johan Gutenberg University Mainz from 2011 to 2017. Since 2018, Nikola has been working in the area of specialist discourse, events and communication at the Kinder- und Jugendtheaterzentrum in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland [Center for Children’s and Youth Theater in the Federal Republic of Germany] and is – among other things – curator of the annual conference “Frankfurter Forum Junges Theater” [Frankfurt Forum on Theater for Young Audiences] and head of the editorial team of “Magazin und Jahrbuch für Kinder- und Jugendtheater” [Magazine and Yearbook for Children’s and Youth Theater].
Implementation of the Laboratory: how do we want to cooperate (in the future)? is carried out in cooperation with Kinder- und Jugendtheaterzentrum in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland.
