What grows as we grow? How will our food taste in the future? And will our appetite grow along with us? What about… our poop? What will we do as we accumulate even more objects; will we have space for even more fairy tale books? Will there be more work and more unicorns? What will our pleasures and problems, sorrows and joys look like – will they grow with us as well? The number of candles on our birthday cakes will keep growing, eventually turning into gigantic figures. Maybe our cats will become really fat and extremely lazy. Even the kids will grow and will be able to go out WITHOUT their parents. Until one day they will leave home for longer, waving goodbye to their families. Where will the new people around us come from? Who of them will stay, and who will disappear? Where will the new issues, concerns, and pleasures come from, and what shapes, flavours, or colours will they take?

One thing we know for sure. SOMETHING is ahead of us. And that SOMETHING may come very soon, completely out of the blue… Or maybe we will have to wait for it.

A group of children and adult performers under the supervision of Anna Wańtuch invites us to think about growing. Or, as we would say in adult terms, growth. Through dance, creative experiments, and stage activities, the artists and performers will talk about what the future may hold. Along with them, we will participate in an event concentrating on how our bodies and the people around us will change, and how emotional, social, and family relationships will bring us together. At the invitation of the performers, during the show, the audience will be able to join in creative activities to discover together with the artists what it means to you to GROW.

Anna Wańtuch’s productions are addressed to families with young children. Her creative initiatives use dance experiments to nurture connections and relationships. The shows are preceded by long processes, full of attentiveness given to performers, both big and small, in which anyone and everyone, regardless of age, can feel safe and unlock their own creative potential. This creates a space filled with dance, joy, closeness, and having fun together. The atmosphere also affects the audience, who – if they wish so – can participate in the show or become inspired in their own explorations. Contact Families Show – a brilliantly received performance created as a part of the 23. Children’s Art Biennale – explored the possibilities of the online format, proving that it is also possible to enjoy being together in front of the screens.

The event is partnered by KTO Theatre in Kraków.
