My name is Oliwia. I think about someone who is not me. There is somebody in every house, in every car, and I wonder how it feels to be that person, and what they think.

Ten kids – ten stories, ten places, ten perspectives. Every child tells a story about themselves – the brief moment we meet them: on a walk in the woods, in the cab of the truck next to their dad, with their mum on the motorbike, on the train with their grandmother… And each of them wonders what it would be like to be that other child nearby.

Page by page, readers change their point of view, looking through the eyes of different children and thinking their thoughts. This artistic technique is extremely powerful for the imagination and makes us think about who we are, what we have in common, and what is different; what we cannot see on the outside, but what defines our lives or moves us.

Simple and yet deeply philosophical, with its magnificent illustrations, this book will become an introduction to workshops on relationships in a group or attitudes towards differences – those of broad and serious kind, but also the everyday, ordinary ones: the differences between us and our friends, parents, neighbours, or the random strangers we meet.
